I'm donating as much money as I can for the Alzheimer's Society in honour of my amazing grandad Charlie! He has been suffering with this disease for a long time and I feel there needs to be more support for suffers and carers.

With suffers of the disease they loose their short term memory but remember the past. There needs to be more help with research and also activities and things for suffers to go out an do to stimulate their minds.

I've spent time with my grandad showing him pictures and listening to old songs associated with his past, which is now the only memory he has left and he remembered and engaged in conversation with me which was a happy experience but sad because I knew it wouldn't last. But still amazing to see his face light up and smile! So that sort of stimulation needs to be promoted a lot more.

I just want the best help and guidance for all suffers and carers as it can be sad but also rewarding.

This disease has touch my heart and there'll be many others in the same position.
