Our 50km cycle for Butterfly Thyroid Cancer Trust

50K cycle for Butterfly Thyroid Cancer Trust · 18 August 2020
In March 2020 our bestfriend Meg was diagnosed with papillary carcinoma.
She has been amazing at raising awareness and staying positive. She had an amazing opportunity with BBC Radio to do an interview which you can view below:
We will be doing our own 50k bike ride on 14th November 2020. Our target is £200 and we would be thrilled to get this to donate. Please follow us through our fundraising journey. Please share this page and links, please donate as little as you much everything helps such a great charity for a cancer that needs more awareness to it.
Some words from Meg:
"Ive kept this private but I’ve now decided to share this purely with the hope my experience raises awareness and could possibly help someone. Before I start I just want to say I’m going to be fine, I have an op soon (but that isn’t always the case and is another reason to raise awareness).
Since March I have unfortunately known I have a form of thyroid cancer and after hearing and seeing the statistics of how common it is amongst young women, I feel like I need to bring awareness to it (especially when it was such a shock and unexpected for me). Personally I had not really heard of it until I was told I have it and it doesn’t always present itself in an obvious way."
We feel we want to do this as a way to give back to a charity which helps people with thyroid cancer and will also raise awareness and to also give back to Meg for always being there for us and being strong through her own battles.
