Story
So why did I choose to do a skydive?
After losing my nan on the 22nd February to dementia I realised that we have to do the things we want to do whilst we can, life is too short to have regrets, so this is my time to support and raise as much as I can for a good charity.
So why Dementia UK?
Dementia is not something that just happens to everyone as they get older. It is caused by different diseases. Most people with dementia have Alzheimer’s disease or vascular dementia, but there are other types too. These diseases affect different parts of the brain, so they affect people in different ways.
At the moment we don’t know why one person may get one of these diseases while another person may not. Doctors and scientists are working hard to find out more about dementia.
Dementia is a disease that has affected my family especially over the last couple of years, I can't tell you how horrible it is to watch someone you love deteriorate in front of your eyes, what’s worse is you know there is nothing you can do to make them better.
My nan made me the person I am today, I have always wanted to do a skydive, but never brought myself round to booking one, Since nans passing away, I need to do something to say thankyou in return and raise money for the support and care she received in her final stages of her 96 years of being on this earth.
So its booked.....
I have made the commitment on 26th August 2023 I will be jumping out of a plane from 10,000 feet at Sky Langer.
I would be very grateful if you could help me raise £600 for this amazing charity
Thank you
