Bliss is a charity close to our hearts since our daughter was born at 27 weeks due to HELLP syndrome. Following delivery by emergency c-section she stayed in Neonatal care for 97 days across four different hospitals. After which she came home with a feeding tube and oxygen. but now nearly five years old you couldn't tell she'd had a traumatic start to life.
Spending the first few months of our baby's life visiting her in hospital was not how we'd envisaged parenthood, having to look at our daughter, rather than hold her. It certainly would have been harder to cope without the wonderful nurses and doctors we met along the way and the fact we were able to stay at charity funded accommodation at hospitals farthest away from our home.
As a family we have tried to raise money for all the charities that have supported us through this time and now to support Bliss and the vital work they do to make sure that more babies like ours make it home to their families.
Every 5 minutes, a baby is admitted to neonatal care in the UK.Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. They rely on donations to fund their work, and without our help they won't be able to reach the 100,000 babies needing neonatal care each year.Your donation to my page will help Bliss to drive improvements in neonatal care, to ensure that the needs of babies are at the heart of policy and planning for the future, and to provide information and support to all families with a baby born premature or sick.
