Story
So, the plan is for me to abseil 150 feet down the main entrance of the Anglican Cathedral - if you've been to, or live around Liverpool, you'll know it's a big un!
I'm still not sure why I'm doing this - I'm absolutely terrified and feel sick every time I think about it and even worse every time I drive past it. I can't even step on to a ladder to come down it without massive anxiety. BUT what better way to ask for money than by doing something that truly terrifies you?
I'm raising money for The Whitechapel Centre - a homeless and housing charity in Liverpool where I started as a volunteer in 2016 and began working for in 2018.
2020 was an incredibly tough year - when so many closed their doors, we moved our door and kept it open to hundreds of people to keep them safe. We have laughed and we have cried as our team of Volunteers delivered thousands of food parcels/meals, our Outreach team pounded the streets of Liverpool, and indoors we taught valuable life skills, supported people to face and tackle their addictions/mental health, helped rebuild self esteem after a relationship breakdown or a lost job - and moved people in to their very own homes.
I am so proud of us - we did good! But our work is not done, yet. So, please donate a quid or two if you can. Please, pretty please.
