Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

The 30th August 2015 is a day that will be etched in my memory forever. We lost our wonderful mother suddenly to Sepsis. Sepsis is the body’s reaction to an infection where your body attacks its own organs. If this is not treated quickly it can lead to organ failure and death. This is exactly what happened to my mum Sheila Prescott last year, (pictured above).

Sepsis does not discriminate everyone is susceptible to Sepsis.

Since the hideous word has become part of our family vocabulary we have heard one too many tragic stories of families losing loved ones, from babies, teenagers, adults and the elderly.

My aim is to raise funds to assist the UK Sepsis Trust with tackling the hidden killer. If you could possibly sponsor my run I would be most grateful as all money raised will go towards the UK Sepsis Trust.

Thank you.

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
