Story
On Thursday 24th March our Trustee, Robin Osborne, sadly passed away after his battle with cancer.
Robin was our charity's accountant and was responsible both for setting up Steve's foundation and for its very first donation, to cover the set up fees. Ever since that day, Robin made an immense contribution to the Foundation's work, offering his professional expertise and guidance, as well as working tirelessly behind the scenes to make the charity what it is today.
Most importantly however, Robin became a wonderful friend to myself, my parents and the fellow trustees with his wonderfully kind and supportive manner, alongside his dry humour and love and passion for sport and football, in particular.
I wanted to find a way to honour Robin's memory and legacy that he has left with us at the SBF. Robin was a huge Leicester City football fan, and having worked out the distance from the SBF hub of my parent's house, to the Leicester Stadium, it totals 269.6km. That broken down into 5km runs, works out at 54 x 5kms.
Therefore, starting on Monday 28th March, I am going to attempt to run 54 x 5kms in a row to honour Robin's memory. This will be a tough mental challenge on days when the last thing I want to do is run again and when my body undoubtedly decides it's in pain, but all money raised will go towards the SBF supporting a specific cause dedicated to Robin and his passion to sport, and this will keep me going, I hope!
Any donations are hugely appreciated, Robin meant a huge amount to my family, and I thank you for taking the time out to read this.
Thanks
