Story
Lets be honest. Walking up stairs is the hardest part of my day. So when I was told we were doing it as a fundraiser I wasn't particularly keen. However, when it comes to young people they're pretty high on my priority list. I'm willing to give it a go! I may not climb many flights of stairs but everyone of them will be because I believe in Jesus and I believe in young people!
From the 23rd - 30th May I'm joining a team of crazy adventurers from Cambridge & District Youth for Christ to try and climb Everest, Mont Blanc and Kilimanjaro from the confines of our own homes! Why, I hear you ask?Youth for Christ is about seeing young people becoming mature disciples. Now, I can't think of anything more influential than helping a young person meet and imitate Jesus. This is no decision made in a moment, but a day-by-day journey. And the truth is that many young people are nowhere near Jesus: they are miles from home. But in this season of isolation and uncertainty I'm more convinced than ever that walking with people on this journey - the highs and lows, the mountain-top moments and the day-to-day plodding - is worth everything. Help us be there: for young people far from home, for youth leaders who feel ill-equipped and lonely, for those who want to grow a culture of discipleship in their churches and don't know where to start!
