Story
(See photos of Jacqueline at bottom of page.)
Jacqueline developed diabetes in her early 30s. She had Type 1 (or juvenile) diabetes which was controlled via daily injections. Sadly, her condition led to further complications in later life, including loss of eyesight and feeling in her feet and hands. Despite this she maintained a sense of humour and defiance.
In later years, Jacqueline's decline in mobility led to the eventual purchase of a mobility scooter and she could often be seen weaving along the road to her local village of Claygate. Her driving skills were not the best, as the staff at her local supermarket can attest, as they regularly had to resurrect the displays that she inevitably knocked over!
Jacqueline was an advocate of research into diabetes and often donated to the cause. Please give generously to help find a cure to this debilitating disease.
