Our son Jackson was diagnosed with cerebral palsy aged 16 months, this effects his four limbs and his speech. He is a very happy and ambitious 7 year old and we as a family would love to give him the opportunity to become as independent as possible. When the time comes and Jackson is to big for walking frames that support him his only option will be a power chair.
Jackson has been selected as a candidate in St Louis , America for SDR (selective dorsal Rhizotomy),And Dr TS Park has a very promising prediction. This operation involves cutting nerves in the spinal cord which would take away any tightness in Jackson, he also requires to have muscle lengthening done in a separate operation while out there. Afterwards he will require a lot of therapies, this would let him build real muscle and hopefully get him on his feet even able to stand to become strong and smash any goal he sets allowing him to go on and live a "normal" fun life ahead.
Like any parents we want the best for our boy and would be forever grateful for any donations given.
*UPDATE* Surgery went great, all systems go with post op therapy and still trying to fill Jacksons pot to ensure he gets all the help he needs.
