Story
Jacob Alexander, who campaigned to end the stigma against HIV has tragically passed away aged 25 years old. This page has been set up to continue his efforts and to raise funds to combat the stigma that still exists around HIV.
Jacob was diagnosed as HIV Positive on the morning of his 22nd Birthday. After being diagnosed Jacob suffered bullying and prejudice from others and very bravely decided to be completely transparent about his diagnosis. He developed an App called "The Positive Project" to help other newly diagnosed people, their friends and families to find out correct information about the reality of being diagnosed and living with HIV.
"The Positive Project" was created and went live within a year of Jacob’s diagnosis, he wanted to be able to help change people’s perception by creating an App that would be a pathfinder for others and most importantly help educate and raise awareness and stop the stigma of HIV.
Jacob was also one of the youngest people to do a TEDX Talk, he talked about his experience of being diagnosed at just 22 years of age and how he hoped to change the ignorance of others through education to stop the stigma of living with HIV.
