We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We started fundraising for Bloodwise in 2014, the year Mike died. This year Molly is old enough to take part in the Prudential London 19 mile ride for the first time, and will be riding with Iain and Jacqueline, supported by Maureen and Patrick, cheering loudly from the finish line on the Mall.

While under going treatment, Mike looked to the future and wanted to get fit and strong again, and raise money for blood cancer research. On the night of his bone marrow transplant, Iain brought Mike a Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research (now Bloodwise) cycle top, and we talked about doing duathlons, triathlons and a London to Paris cycle. However for Mike this was not to be.

Since then we, the Gurning Grimpeurs (Maureen, Molly, Patrick, Iain and Jacqueline), have raised money every year, through cake sales, coffee mornings, yard sales and turbo challenges, as well as taking part in events to support Bloodwise including scootathlons, London to Paris cyles, half marathons and the Prudential London cycle.

Once again thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last few years from baking cakes, organising events, taking part and making donations. It is all appreciated very much.
