Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

In 2017 my Sprocker Spaniel  Fern gave birth to 11 beautiful puppies.  I donated 2 of them to Bravehound which is a Veterans Charity who train companion/assistance dogs for those we have had to leave the armed services due to physical/mental health disabilities.  ( mainly PTSD).  They name most of their dogs after dogs who have been awarded the PDSA Dickin Medal for their services to our country. The first dog I donated to the charity at 8 weeks old was named 'Antis' after a dog who was awarded the Dickin Medal for his services in the Second World War.  He was found by Robert Bozdech a Czech pilot who was shot down in no-mans land & he took him under his wing.  Robert smuggled him into the UK where he flew sorties with him.  Antis was Aptly known as "the dog who could fly".  The story of the original Antis can be read in the book War Dog by Damien Lewis.  The 2nd dog I donated was Sir Jeff.  He was handed back to me around a year old as the previous owners young baby had allergies to him.  Both these dogs have brought great Love & Joy to their veterans & have been their "saviours".  Both have said if it wasn't for their dogs they wouldn't be here today.

Bravehound fully fund the dogs which includes all vet fees, food, insurance & training, etc

I always try to do a big fundraiser every year for Bravehound , which since Covid hit has been difficult to do.  A skydive has always been on my bucket list but I was always overweight to do a jump!!.  Over the past 10 months I have been following "Slimmimg World" eating plan & can proudly say I have lost 5 stone 7 lbs.  No excuse now to get it ticked off my bucket list before I get too old to do it!!!

My Sky Dive is booked at Strathallan Airfield on Sunday 26th June 2022.

**Cancelled due to weather**
