Story

I am cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats (LEJOG) with John
Duncan, Eddie and John McGhee, and the logistic brains and support George Irons.

The challenge was first thought of by Eddie who wanted to
mark his 60th birthday in a big way. Now an enthusiastic team of 5
we began planning at the beginning of the year. However, with COVID and a lockdown
we began to think the trip would never happen. Nonetheless training continued.
Over the last 6 months I have cycled many MANY miles and up many MANY hills (with
my training buddy and son, John) to try and prepare myself for this enormous
challenge.

We start our journey on the 5th of September when
we depart from Cumbernauld at 5.30am to begin the long drive to Land’s End. Our
cycling adventure starts Sunday the 6th of September, finishing in John
O’Groats on the 19th!

We will be cycling a total of 1040 miles (hence the fundraising
target) and I will be raising some money for Alzheimer’s Scotland along the way
in memory of my dad, Ian MacDonough, who suffered from Vascular Dementia and
passed away in 2014.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated!

Wish us luck!

Jacqueline
