Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It is that time of year again folks, I am swimming the Thames again with my sis to raise some more money for the Royal Brompton.A year later and it still means so much to us to be able to raise money for the hospital and its a great way to remember dad. He faced many challenges and so like him we will face this challenge once again to prove that you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it and this is no easy swim!
The reason behind it...
I want to raise as much money as I can for the Royal Brompton so that others suffering from COPD can get the help and support that my dad did to live with this debilitating disease. If it was not for the Royal Brompton I don't think my dad would have lived as long as he did. My dad was a great believer that something could be done to make the disease easier to live with and hence he signed up to trials to help the doctors find that cure. Without them dad and many others suffering with COPD would not have got the right support. They help people to manage their illness and the rehabilitation unit showed dad ways to exercise to aid his breathing. I just want to give something back to them.
COPD is on the increase it is the third biggest killer in the country yet still not many people are aware of it so I am making it my mission to let people know about it.
Please support us it means the world to my family and to those who rely on The support of The Royal Brompton.
Thank You so much
Jackie xx
