The Loomba Foundation has done more than any other organisation I know to research the plight of widows around the world and to draw attention to their suffering. Many of us (men or women) who have experienced widow(er)hood know how tough it can be, but for thousands or women in many parts of the world, it can result in them being cast out from home, family and society without any means of support or hope.
