I am raising money for the North Wales Cancer Appeal, because I want to help them do more for people affected by cancer. I will be completing Karens snowdon sunrise challenge on 02/07/2022. .

My beautiful friend Karen is currently undergoing treatment for cancer at this unit and they are in desperate need of funds.

Now just a bit about my friendship with karen. 

I met Karen’s mum Joan 20 years ago when I was a young whipper snapper working for Greggs. Joan would always talk about Karen and I’d be in awe of her lifestyle and the fact she had a lovely career at Laura Ashley, as apposed to my stinky one at Greggs! 

Joan was the most wonderful, funny, courageous woman I ever met and although we didn’t always meet eye to eye in work, I absolutely adored her. Unfortunately in 2008 Joan passed away from cancer and it absolutely broke my heart. 

Since then, although not frequently, karen and I will reminisce about the good old days of greggs and the many many things her mum did to make me laugh. 

Karen is a carbon copy of her mum and that’s why I love her.

When karen asked us to join in on this walk up snowdon at sunrise we didn’t hesitate. After losing Ian’s mum in 2020 to cancer we will endeavour to do anything we can in relation to helping people suffering with this awful illness in memory of the wonderful woman she was. 

Karen,You are a true inspiration and just a bloody lovely human ❤️ We cannot wait to be by your side as we walk up together
