Story
Just4Children are raising funds to support Jacob, who needs ongoing specialist therapy to help develop his skills and give him the best chance of independence and mobility.
Jacob has been working really hard over the last year with the money raised. He started a new therapy in December (Dynamic Movement Intervention-DMI) which he attends for approx. 2 hours every week in
addition to the weekly physio and hydro sessions. It is thanks to all of the support we have received that we have been able to give Jacob these opportunities and we are so grateful to you all.
Jacob has started to smile consistently in response to things, which is such a massive change and melts our hearts every time we see his little smile, as we thought the day may never come. His head control has improved, a regular comment made by his therapists, and this helps with his sitting practice.
Jacob was luckily enough to loan the innowalk for 7 weeks which actively moves his legs in a walking motion giving his muscles the chance to work and stretch in ways they don’t usually.
He is working hard on drinking from his cup in the hope that the feeding tube can be removed again, and he can progress back to full oral feeding.
He is becoming more responsive to things he likes and laughs at funny noises and especially loves his bells!
Most of all Jacob loves cuddles and attention!!!!
To help support Jacob on his journey we are taking on a 5k inflatables challenge to help fundraise. Let’s give Jacob the fighting chance he deserves!
