On 10th June 2023, ‘Team Eben’ (Jac, Kat, Liv & Pete) will be taking part in a 29km hike as part of the Lake District Ultra Challenge to raise money for A Wish For Eben.

When Jac’s nephew Eben was 2 and a half, he was diagnosed with a very rare form of Muscular Dystrophy - Ullrich Congenital Muscular Dystrophy (UCMD) which affects his skeletal muscles; this means that Eben is unable to walk independently, and he is likely to face respiratory issues, muscle contractures and scoliosis later in life. 

Despite his diagnosis, he is a happy, funny and loving little guy who makes friends with everyone. He loves going to nursery, his knowledge of dinosaurs is unrivalled for a 4-year-old and he's a fantastic older brother to his little sister Lyra who adores him. 

Treatments and equipment are available to help manage Eben’s symptoms, but sadly there is currently no cure for UCMD however there is hope in the form of promising research being done in this area. 

80% of funds raised will go towards UCMD research and 20% will be kept in a welfare account for Eben's future needs.
