Jacks Swim Serpentine page - I did it!Thank you!!

Swim Serpentine 2019 · 21 September 2019 ·
I am 14 years old & about to start Year 10 at Royal Latin School.I am raising funds for the next phase of Royal Latin’s 600 Campaign. The Campaign was launched in 2012 to raise funds to provide my school with state of the art science, sport & arts facilities in time to mark the school’s 600th anniversary in 2023.The school has needed to undertake this fundraising as it is the most underfunded grammar school in England despite (or perhaps because of) its excellent academic record.
The first phase, the Discovery Centre, a science & technology facility, was opened in 2015 after a successful £5m fundraising initiative.
The second phase, is a £3m fundraising initiative to provide sports facilities which encourage sport for all, nurture emerging talent, & benefit the wider community by emphasising the benefits of an active lifestyle. This is the reason I have decided to become a fundraiser.
I am passionate about sport & want to do all I can to help, particularly given the focus on the benefit of sport to both mind & body, which has personal resonance for me.I am autistic, & struggle with mental health & body image issues.Sport has been key to my ability to manage these issues.
I have never attempted an open water swim before & have just completed my first training swim at Willen Lake.
I know there are lots of worthy causes deserving of your time & money but if you can spare a little something it would be much appreciated.
