Story
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support. Late last year I lost my granddad to heart failure, so this means a lot to me. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures.
The Ironman triathlon is a 3.8km (2.4mi) swim, 180km (112mi) ride, and a marathon (42km/26.2mi). It'll be really hard, I'm actually quite scared. Currently, training is about 10 sessions a week summing to about 14 hours but that'll step up closer to the event. As a context, before September last year, I hadn't swum more than a length in a pool for 10 years or cycled for more than an hour on a road bike. This is the biggest physical challenge I've ever committed to. I'm aiming for around 12 hours as a finish time.
Please give generously.
