6K Santa Run 2009 · 5 December 2009 ·
Hey guys,
I will participate in the Santa Run in London this year, which is a charity event to raise money for disabled people, especially children, to allow them participating in snow sport activities. This initiative enables them to conquer the barriers that confront them in daily life while getting a taste of the feeling and joy you feel when being active outside enjoying the winter with other friends...it makes possible what is so 'normal' for us!
Once they start snapping into bindings or transfer from a wheelchair
to sit ski, they experience an adventure of both freedom and independence, which builds their confidence and can help them to overcome the struggles of everyday life.
The aim for donation is £25, but of course there is no limit to the top! If you think you can support me in this run with whatever little money you can affort or even cheering at Battersea Park on the 5th December, then please do not hesitate to put your name down with the details and you will help to give disabled people a moment of freedom outside in the snow or mountains!
In supporting me you will also make sure I run as fast as I can (if that's possible in the Santa Outfit! ;-)...which in the BUPA Run in May this year got me to place 73 (out of 8300)!! :))
Below are the details of how to donate.
Thanks a lot for your support and hopefully see you at Battersea Park!!! ( I will be the one in the red-white outfit! Haha!)
JACKI :o)
