Story
In 2011 I was found to have cancer cells in my bone marrow and after many tests and hospital visits I was told that I had an undiagnosed primary cancer. I underwent 6 courses of chemotherapy targeting all areas of my body, together with further investigations to try and determine where the primary was. In August 2012 I found a lump in my breast and was told that this was the primary. Unfortunately because the cancer had already spread I wasn’t offered any surgery but have been put on hormone therapy to shrink the tumour. Although I have been told that the cancer is incurable I am feeling well and am determined not to give into the disease.
I am taking part in Shine walking 26.2 miles, with my sister Lesley and niece Amanda, together with my two sons, Vincent and Scott and my beautiful grandaughter Shannon. Without theirs and all my family and friends love and support I could not have come this far.
Please help us to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK.
