Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Recently retired from spending most of my working life supporting brain injured individuals and their families, I have had time to reflect on my experiences. Spending time with people experiencing trauma and unwanted changes in their lives has taught me a lot, not least the benefit of a 'helping hand', a 'listening ear' or a  'skilled helper' at the right time. For many, Headway provides this help and support, all over the UK. I want to raise funds to ensure Headway continues to provide the specialist services required for the injured and their families.

In addition, having hit my sixties I decided to take on a personal challenge (or two!). I like to walk but am having to undertake some serious training in order to be ready for the Wall In September. This training includes undertaking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on June 22nd. I am hoping that if I can manage that then the Wall might feel less daunting. We'll see!

I am paying for the trip myself so all the funds I raise will go direct to Headway. I plan to  run some fundraising events between now and September but in the meantime if you are able to donate some funds now that would be wonderful.  I need your help to keep me motivated and on track, so  even if you can only spare a little that will be fine and much appreciated.
