After nearly 4 years in hospitality and having loved every second of it, I am proud to be invited to join the team, Pedalling for Pubs.  In my head I am a teenager but I realise I am one of the senior members of the 29 strong crew taking to our bikes next April.  We will be riding over 450km from the west to east coast of beautiful Sri Lanka,  up a few hills  (mountains ek!) and down a few (with tricky terrain)  to raise money and awareness for two great charities, 'The Licensed Trade Charity' and 'Only a Pavement Away', who support people who work in the pub and hospitality industry.  OAPA has recently placed its 100th homeless person into a career in hospitality.  LTC support workers in every way possible.  Determined not to be last and embarking on my biggest challenge since days in canoeing and bringing my son into the world, I am feeling a tad nervous.   I am hoping I can rise to the challenge and complete the cycle, as well as raise money for two charities who support our sector.
