Some of you will know that swimming the English Channel in relay (and maybe one day a solo) has been a dream of mine for many years however for a long time it seemed far out of reach. Over the last 18months I decided to really focus on making the dream a reality and started my journey into open water swimming. I was keen to make a difference to others whilst being lucky enough to achiveve my own dreams so In November 2018 I applied and successfully gained a place with one of Aspires Channel relay teams for next summer.                      This challenge will involve lots of cold water swims for acclimatisation and a serious commitment to training over the next 8 months, the knowledge that I am raising funds for such an incredible charity like Aspire will provide continual inspiration and motivation. 

Aspire’s aim is to help those affected by a spinal cord  injury to get from injury to independence. I was fortunate enough to meet an incredible lady who described first hand how Aspire helped her to do this and the impact this has had on her life following a tragic accident.

I am covering the full cost of my swim and making a personal donation to Aspire so every penny you give we go towards helping those with spinal cord injury.
