Story
I am SO thrilled to be running the Berlin Marathon alongside 60 Spencer Stuart colleagues from more than 20 countries around the world in support of Pancreatic Cancer research.
Growing up, I watched my mom run 10 marathons all over the world. I witnessed her experience the thrill, glory and accomplishment, but also the blood, sweat and tears. I remember telling her that I would never run a marathon…but here I am!!
Running the Berlin Marathon this year feels "meant to be" in so many ways. Germany holds huge sentimental value to me and my family, and as a German citizen I feel honored and excited to be running my first marathon there. Berlin also became one of my favorite cities in the world after living and working there during a semester of college. Ultimately, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to run and train alongside colleagues from all over the world, united under the team's overarching goal of raising money for Pancreatic Cancer.
Pancreatic Cancer has the worst survival rate of the 21 most common cancers, with fewer than 4% of patients surviving for five years or longer following diagnosis. The Pancreatic Cancer UK Foundation is fighting to make a difference. Your support and donation mean so much - not only to me, but to the people whose lives have been changed forever by this horrible disease. If you have friends who might have been touched by Pancreatic Cancer as well, please forward the link to them.
I wouldn’t be here without friends and family like you - thank you SO much for your support and wish me luck!!
