Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

July 28-30 is my next big challenge in which I'm hoping to set  new record as the "1st 80 year old ever to complete the Badwaterultra 135 mile race". (I already hold the 1st 70 & 75 year old records !!!). This gruelling foot race starts at Badwater in Death Valley USA which is the hottest/lowest point in the Western hemisphere at 282ft below sea level. The race route climbs out of Badwater across the floor of Death Valley (which has daytime temps. of 125+F) passing through Furnace Creek/Stovepipe Wells/ Keeler/Lone Pine and finishes at Mt Whitney (14.494ft).  I will be competing against 90 invited international runners/walkers who are  very much younger than me, in fact half my age!!!     Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
