Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be running in this years Brighton Half marathon on Sunday 26th February in aid of Cancer Research UK.
This will be my first major running event. I took up running during the first lockdown as a good way to focus, motivate and look after myself mentally. Recently I have neglected running and fallen off the wagon with it, so thought there’s no better way than to commit to an event to re focus and have something to aim for, whilst raising money for a great cause.
As I mentioned above I will be running the Brighton Half Marathon in aid of Cancer Research UK, a cause very close to my heart. My dad is in the mist of a long battle with terminal cancer. He has had operations and multiply rounds of chemotherapy, unfortunately none of these are any longer an option. He is comfortable and at home with his lovely wife still, which brings some comfort. I am lucky enough to be able to visit regularly to reminisce and put the world to rights, he is rather good at that!! I treasure all of these moments we are able to spend together very dearly.
I am under no illusion that the amazing work that Cancer Research UK do will not be able to save my dad but I hope that any money I am able to raise will help individuals and families in the future.
My motivation and reason why is very clear to me so I ask that if you can to please, please sponsor me and donate what you are able to, to assist the work this amazing charity does. Any donations will be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Jack
