Story
I have signed up for the Great North Run 2022 and have decided to run with Great North Air Ambulance (GNAAS). GNAAS tried to help my dad Alan Sharpe after he was involved in a fatal motorbike accident in 2010, unfortunately they could not save him; However, GNAAS save hundreds of people yearly within the north east in places where emergency services cannot respond as fast due to access to the area.
As a thank you to all the members of GNAAS who tried to help my dad that day I am asking for donations towards my run.
I am not the fittest bloke in the world but I will be creating a separate Facebook page where I will post weekly updates of my training up to and on the day of the race. I know I am setting this up way in advance of the race but I want to prepare to really give this my all.
I aim to not just complete it but to get a better time than the last time I completed the GNR 2hr35(Quite a few years ago + did not train like I should have!)
If you have read this far thank you! + if you can spare a few quid I appreciate it greatly as I'm sure will the patients who receive the incredible support of the GNAAS every year. My goal is to raise £350. if I do reach this target I will also donate £100 myself to add to the final count.
Thank you
Jack
Information on GNAAS
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) rescues hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year throughout the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Their doctor-led critical care teams deliver life-saving treatments at the scene of the incident whether that is on a fell top, a roadside or in a city centre. The charity responded to 1,640 call outs last year* alone, via their helicopter and emergency response vehicles, where they performed treatments and procedures which can mean the difference between life or death.
