Fundraising for MS-UK
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Any donation no matter how small is gratefully received in my race to raise £750 for MS UK.
I'll be following in the footsteps of Cav, Wiggo and co by cycling 100 gruelling miles of the Olympic Road Race route in the best time possible. I'm doing this in memory of Georgie's dad, Bill, who sadly died of MS 6 years ago, and to raise awareness of MS UK and all the tremendous work they do.
Your donations will see me endure many painful miles in the saddle in training for this big challenge, as well as a cut down in curries and ales to ensure I can be leading the attacks on Box Hill!
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a disease of the central nervous system (your brain and your spinal cord). It is an auto-immune disease, where the immune system gets confused and instead of attacking an infection or virus, the immune system turns on itself and attacks the nerve cells. This means that ‘messages’ being transmitted from the brain become distorted or not get through at all.
Approximately 100,000 people in the UK have MS and there are roughly three times as many women with MS as men. MS is usually diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 40. Children and older adults can develop MS but this is less common.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
