Story
I am doing this in an effort to overcome one of my biggest fears... HEIGHTS, While also raising money to support a local charity that is very close to mine and Liz’s heart.
This is a locally funded nursery that has been able to provide specialised care and support to my daughter Evie Pritchard during a very difficult time, as Evie was unfortunately diagnosed with multiple health issues from an early age.
Children with special needs have been significantly impacted by the pandemic, particularly the loss of access to key services.
Did you know that over 50% of disabled children have been unable to access their usual therapies like speech and language and physiotherapy, 75% have been socially isolated, and many parents have reported their children displaying a regression in confidence in basic life skills and communication skills.
It is clear that, nationally, children with special needs in the early years have been amongst the most affected by the pandemic and that new inequalities have been created as well as existing ones worsened.
Thanks to the local community the Peter Pan Centre have been there every step of the way for the children and families throughout this challenging time, providing consistent, weekly, life-changing care and education for children and the support their families need and deserve.
Just to show what the money will be going towards:
£20 can pay for a weeks worth of children's snacks.
£50 can fund a specialist toy for a child with sensor processing disorder.
£55 can fund a child to enjoy a personalised session with a practitioner.
