Story
Basically on one day every year the company I work for has a 'Community Day' where it allows us the day to give something back.
This year I decided I fancied the challenge of sailing my Laser dinghy from Looe to Plymouth (where I work) and to make it more interesting I'll be doing the 18 mile journey all whilst dressed as a giant Teddy Bear.
As that's the mascot of our chosen charity, Jeremiah's Journey which is a great organisation that offers help and support to children and families who have lost someone very significant in their lives.
So on the morning of Thursday 3rd of October I'll be departing Looe sea front. The trip should take between 3 to 4 hours dependant on weather conditions, I'll have a support boat following me in case of emergency but otherwise it will just be myself, a small boat and a Teddy Bear costume.
And so it comes to that awkward time when I have to call upon friends, family and colleagues to give money to charity in return for me doing something stupid.
Anything you can donate would be massively appreciated by the charity and definitely by me as the more people I talk to the harder the challenge seems to get.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Regards,
Jack
