I am one of a group raising money to offset the carbon and plastic used in our critical care unit. We look after around 1200 patients a year in critical care. This last year has obviously been very hard. We have also used huge quantities of energy and plastic caring for patients with Covid-19. PPE, aprons, gloves, visors and masks all use plastics.  

We want to plant a tree for every patient we have cared for over the last 12 months with Covid-19 but also those with other illnesses. Sadly some of these patients have died without their family beside them. We would also like to plant a tree to commemorate our staff who have worked so hard, and struggled over the last year to provide the best care we possibly could. 

I had Covid-19 in March 2020, but was very lucky. I started running again in April and from May onwards have run a 100miles/month. April 2021 marks the 12th  month; 1200 miles for the usual number of patients we look after every year in the Cardiff Critical Care service. 

With your help we would like to raise enough money to plant trees for every patient and for all our staff. Stump Up For Trees is a charity who will plant the trees which cost £4.50 to plant and then care for. We can plant one hectare of trees for £7200 which can symbolise a forest or grove for our patients and staff. Please help make this possible.
