I'm running for Changes Bristol!
I am running the 2023 Bath Half for Changes Bristol because I'm keen to support their work in providing mental health services to people in the Greater Bristol area. We all know how important these services are and how effective they are in helping us all deal with negative feelings better.
Changes are especially good at delivering these services to everyone without a referral or wait time, which I think reduces the red tape and makes receiving support less daunting and flexible to different needs.
I want services like this to be available to anyone that wants them and so I am supporting Changes!
More info about Changes Bristol:
Changes Bristol is a mental health charity based in Bristol that provides support to people suffering from mental distress in Greater Bristol and the surrounding areas . One of the services we provide is our weekly peer support meetings which take place all over the city as well as online. These provide a place for people to talk about their problems in a non-judgemental, safe and confidential environment. Alongside these, we hold four online peer support groups which we have categorised as closed safe spaces - our Women's, Men's, Women of Colour and LGBTQIA+ groups. These are open to anybody identifying as part of the community that the group serves and provide an essential safe, judgement free space for these groups to explore their mental health. We also provide a befriending service to match individuals who are feeling isolated with a volunteer for weekly peer support via phone or through our weekly "Walk and Talk" events. All of our services are free, accessible to all adults (over 18), and require no formal diagnosis.
