Thanks for visiting the page.
I'm running the Great North Run this year. It's for a great charity, the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Charity.
Below are the answers to some questions that might be festering in your mind:
1) I hate you and wish you definite harm, why on Earth would I sponsor you?
- Fair enough, I understand your animosity but consider this. If you know me, you'll know how likely a thing this is for me to do. I probably won't die but I may well get a bit of a limp or some blisters.
2) Times are hard at the moment, normally I'd sponsor you but I just don't feel like I can afford it
- I'll also be helping the economies of various developing nations by buying trainers, so not only will you be helping the nice people at the Hospital Charity, you'd also be helping yourselves by bolstering world trade in this difficult time of recession stimulating the recovery and safeguarding not just your future but all of our and our children's futures.
3) If I donate will I get anything for it, for example a generic platitude?
- If you've donated, well done you!
4) Can't I just give you the money?
- Of course you can, see me wherever and sign a form - but bare the following corporate speak in mind
"Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now."
Thanks all, please do give what you can. It's a great cause otherwise I wouldn't be doing this stupid thing.
