In October 2016 34 riders are going to Climb Mont Ventoux to raise funds for disadvantaged and abused childern in the UK

Story

A few months ago I idiotically agreed to join a group of people attempting to cycle up Mont Ventoux three times in a day on 16th October 2016. We are doing this for the wonderful charity "Hedge Funds Care" which provides multiple grants via "Help for Children" to children's charities every year.

Ventoux is legendary in cycling and particularly in the Tour de France, as being the most brutal stage of all. Three times to the summit means a total distance of 136Km but more crucially a total climb of almost 15,000 feet. Not for nothing is this known as "The Beast of Provence".

Three months ago I was not a cyclist. I am still not a cyclist but I do now have a bike, padded pants, dodgy shoes and a shirt with pockets in the back. I've put in some miles and the odd slope but nothing can fully prepare me for this other than your generosity.

Any amount you can donate will be gratefully received and make a big difference to the work of Help for Children in preventing and protecting against child abuse and neglect.

Warmest thanks

Jack
