Story
Time for me to do the "cap in hand" thing. Myself and three friends are taking part in the "Snow Camp Rally". 25 teams of four people are competing to clock up the most runs spread over all five of England's indoor snowslopes in a 12 hour period. It's going to involve a lot of driving and a lot of snowboarding (and having to put up with James Griffiths' inane babble while couped up in a car in sweaty snowboard gear for most of it). It's for a good cause, obviously, which is Snow-Camp:
"Snow-Camp is an innovative youth charity that uses a unique combination of skiing, snowboarding and life-skills programmes to support inner-city young people. Through snowsports and life-skills, Snow-Camp programmes enable young people to grow in confidence and self esteem, develop as individuals and make positive choices for their lives. Snow-Camp programmes also enable young people to reflect on the key issues impacting their day to day lives, and help them develop new skills to support their futures – particularly towards careers in the snowsport industry. Snow-Camp has grown steadily from 2003 and now works with at least 400 young people each year across 12 London Boroughs. Their vision is to expand Snow-Camp to other cities across the UK and benefit many more inner-city young people. See the website for more details www.snow-camp.org.uk"
Read that? Good. Now I would really like it if you'd consider donating whatever you can. Don't forget to Gift Aid your donation so that the dirty tax man doesn't get his hands on any more of your hard earned cash and it goes straight to the people that need it!
Thanks loads, you're all awesome!
