Story

On Sunday the 15th of October 2023 I will be running my first Marathon at the Eden Project in Cornwall.

I have decided to raise some money for the Raising4Ria fund. Raising4Ria is a fundraising group within the charity Brain Tumour Research. It was set up by Ria Melvin's family in her memory to help raise as much money as possible to fund research into brain tumour treatments to improve outcomes and ultimately find a cure.

Ria died in August 2021 ,aged just 25, from a Glioblastoma Grade 4 Brain Tumour 2 years 7 months after diagnosis despite undergoing all available treatment options.

Brain tumour research receives less than 1% of national funding despite killing more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer, we want to play our part to change this awful stat.

Any donation big or small will make a difference and would be very much appreciated.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
