Story

Hello everyone!

Last year I applied to run in the London Marathon, and was fortunate enough to get a place in the ballot, with no charity fundraising requirements. I had originally intended to park fundraising for if and when I partake in an event with fundraising requirements, as I fully appreciate around this time of year a lot of people ask for contributions to their causes to enable them to enter events - and you can't donate to everyone!

However, at a party in mid-April I saw some of our lovely family friends, The Fallons, who tragically lost their son Luke to a brain tumour in March 2016. They told me that they have set up a fund in memory of Luke, with proceeds feeding into The Brain Tumour Charity and a huge aim of raising £50,000 - with many people pooling together across many events to raise funds in Luke's name.

[Please take a minute to read Luke's story below and the reason for the fund - it is an incredible cause and not only would any donations be appreciated by myself and The Fallons, but by many other people to whom the cause is incredibly close to home.]

Even more recently, a close friend of my girlfriend's family, lost their battle with a brain tumour.

As I write this, it is 4 days until i'll be running the 26.2. Whilst it is a *considerably* shorter time period than most fundraising, i'm hoping for some truly British last-minuteness and a swift push to help contribute to their fund in any way possible.

Please, please dig deep if you can - whilst the race itself is going to be long, (very, very sweaty) and painful, it's absolutely nothing in comparison to the suffering of families who are impacted by this horrible disease.

Thank you & much love!
Jack

Luke was a much loved Son who had a special ability to relate to everyone he met with his big smile and caring nature.

As  a triplet Luke had a very close relationship with his two sisters, Alice & Grace and he loved to make people laugh. Luke faced all of his treatments in the same manner with no complaints and continued to attend school and meet with all of his friends.

Luke was involved with the Brain Tumour Charity after his diagnosis of a high grade brain tumour in January 2015 and took part in the Twilight Walk in Chester.

Since Luke passed away on 2 March 2016 we have set up The Luke Fallon Fund and numerous events have been undertaken in his memory by family and friends such as Trekking in Iceland, The Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge, Half Marathons, Bake Sales, Pyjama Parties and Annual Christmas Jumper Fun Days,

We are striving to raise £50,000 to fund vital research into high grade brain tumours and we are well on our way with more events being planned in the future. We know we will never replace Luke but we hope that with your help and donations, other families will be spared the pain that we endure as research advances towards a cure for this devastating disease.
