Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For a long time, even before lockdown and the start of my love for running, running the London Marathon has always been an ambition of mine. However, I have never had the incentive to actually sign up and do it, well that was until this year.
At the beginning of this year one of my sister in laws decided to take up running herself, she was doing really well and had completed many weeks of the couch to 5k app when she started suffering with bloating and discomfort. She made a doctors appointment and following tests and scans discovered she had a large 16cm cyst on her ovary which needed to be removed as soon as possible.
In June she went in for the cyst to be removed and a full hysterectomy. This was just the beginning of her road to recovery because after tests it was confirmed that the cyst was in fact cancerous and although the Doctor was confident they had removed all cancerous tissue, to be on the safe side she would need to start a course of chemotherapy.
This is then what gave me the nudge to sign up and run the London Marathon in October 2023 for a cause that is close to mine and my family's hearts.
Therefore I would be very grateful if you could support me and spare some money and donate to Ovarian Cancer Action to help with the research and treatment of ovarian cancer for all the brave women including my sister in law who have had their lives impacted by this dreadful disease.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
