Story
Last year was difficult for us all and before Covid hit any of our lives my family suffered a loss which is still being felt today.
My Mum, Tess was diagnosed in late January 2020 with cancer in or around the peritoneum. She was due to undergo a treatment plan, but unfortunately complications developed regarding her bone marrow cruelly prevented this from happening. Palliative care was arranged at St Wilfrid's Hospice, but her condition deteriorated rapidly and she passed away on Saturday 7th March at home surrounded by close family.
Tess was an amazing wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend loved by all who knew her. We all have our own cherished memories of time spent with her. She was taken far too soon.
In her honour I am taking part in an endurance challenge which was made popular by David Goggins last year. The challenge is to run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. It may sound easy on the face of it, however, sleep deprivation should make this interesting!
I will finish the challenge on the years anniversary of her passing.

The challenge starts globally on Friday 5th March finishing on Sunday 7th March 2021, which will be the anniversary of her passing.
Local hospices like St Wilfrid's in Eastbourne rely heavily on charitable fundraising and last year with most events being cancelled this has affected incoming donations. I hope that my personal challenge can support this great place which has helped so many during difficult times and will continue to do so for many more years to come.
Thanks,
Jack
