Story
Hi Guys,
As many of you know I have been moaning about my weigh for a long time and finally decided to do something about it and start running again! Yes, that will be a challenge (believe me!;-) itself, but to make this challenge even better I am going to lose 30kgs (yes, 30!) by the end of September 2017!.....it will be hard work, but I am sure you all will support me by both cheering up during my runs, but more importantly by donating money to Survivors Manchester. The goal is £500 which means only £10 for each kilometre run by me :)
You must ask yourself why Survivors Manchester?
The Survivors Manchester consists of highly skilled and dedicated team of professionals and volunteers who support men who have experienced sexual violence in their life. The charity provides their clients with psychological interventions (individual counselling, group work) as well as with the support delivered by the Independent Sexual Violence Advocate who help survivors who engage in the criminal justice system and with many other practical issues on daily basis. The stigma attached to the sexual violence experienced by men is still high and the this type of violence for many men is a taboo which often prevents them from reaching out for help and seeking professional support. The Survivors Manchester are unique charity specialising with providing holistic support to men who experienced sexual violence in the past and also work with partners at policy level to change legislation and social policies aiming to support men who survived sexual abuse.
Any pound given to support my fundraising and donated to Survivors Manchester will make a great difference as will help to support men who experienced sexual abuse and often experienced stigma from their families, friends and other people despite being victims of crime.
The plan to reach my 50 km goal is to run the following races:
IV 2017: Salford 10km
V 2017: Great Manchester Run 10km
VI 2017: Rhyl 10km
VII 2017: North Wales Half Marathon
YAY:) Support me Guys :)
