Story
Me & my little brother Owen will be doing the boxing day dip for the first time this year as it will be a little milestone we share together as brothers.
Me and Owen cannot be taken near a body of water together without going for a swim and now i’ve finally had top surgery we have decided to do our first swim together since getting my lovely new chest done on boxing day, in the freezing cold. What better way to symbolise our brotherly bond? 👨👦🌊
Doing this we’d like to raise money for Mind as we have personally have been affected by mental health problems but so have our friends and family. I’m sure most families have. Mental Health has affected me in terrible ways and if I didn’t have access to support, therapy, medication & professional help, I wouldn’t be here. Mind have been a great support to me since I was a teenager. I’m almost 30 now!!
The past few years have been extremely difficult for most people, mental health problems are on the rise and the pressure of everything in the UK is leaving people hopeless, alone, stressed, depressed and concerned about their wellbeing. Mind are a brilliant charity that can support you through these dreaded times. Your donation will go toward funding the amazing support workers and hubs throughout the UK.
Men account for 77% of the suicide rate in the UK because they are less likely to seek help. In England women are twice as likely to be diagnosed with anxiety disorders. 20% of people aged 16 and over showed symptoms of anxiety and depression.
If you’d like to come support us and witness an emotional moment between two brothers we’ll be doing it in Saltburn obviously on Boxing Day. Please donate and make our hypothermia worth it. Thanks. ❤️
