Story
In 2018 my amazing Grandad sadly passed away, after a battle with Dementia. He was the epitome of a gentleman, full of life and compassion always ready with a nugget of advice or a chirpy whistle. It was difficult to witness the tragic effect the disease had on him, and the impact on the rest of our family. An experience that too many people have to go through.
It is my aim to raise as much as possible to help fund all the wonderful support that Alzheimer's Society provides, as well as the research in finding a cure.
As a keen walker and a basis of many of my memories with Grandad, trekking Kilimanjaro seemed like a suitable challenge. So From the 5th to the 12th Jan 2022, that's what I'll be doing!
Any donation would be greatly appreciated, thank you so much :)
Lots of Love,
Jess x
**UPDATE**
As many of you know- unfortunately, the day before I was due to fly to Africa my fit to fly PCR test came back positive. So instead of climbing Kilimanjaro, I was isolating. Still keen to raise money for such a fantastic cause I set about finding a suitable alternative challenge. The North York Moors is an area I always associate with my grandad. He was often found on the Cleveland hills, leading a hike with his walking group or dragging along his grandchildren, with the bribe of chocolate at the top! Therefore the 109 mile Cleveland Way, over 6 days presented the perfect challenge!
