Story
I am the co-founder and chair of this wonderful charity who support both children and adults with disabilities and help to make their lives better...
The reason I am taking part in Walk This May again this year is to raise awareness of the difficulties that people with disabilities face everyday of their lives.
My own Son Joshua who is the inspiration behind the charity and faces many challenges on a daily basis. Joshua is autistic and has a significant learning disability, he also has hypermobility, dyspraxia and is vitamin D deficient, meaning there are many obstacles that he has to face everyday of his life. Many things that we all take for granted may cause difficulties for Joshua; for example, we have just returned from a much needed family break, as we hadn't been away in nearly three years - Center parcs - a place our Son likes to go when we can, as he loves to see the animals and enjoys swimming; however any time spent away from his home and routine, brings about additional challenges for him; the holiday involves walking a fair distance to and from the villa to the main area and this time it became harder than previous years, resulting in us needing to hire a wheelchair for assistance. Otherwise he wouldn't have gone out to take part in the activities. There are many other challenges in everyday life for Joshua, however one thing always remains and that's his fun personality and sense of humour, and his love for life. Josh is a real inspiration to us all everyday.
This is why, for the second year , I will be walking the founders walk for Walk this May on Saturday 11th. This is a six mile route around Enfield and is a real challenge!
Please do support me if you can; every donation counts big or small!
Thankyou, as your kind donation will be helping the charity to support many others just like my own Son.
