Story

Martha, my beloved cousin, died at the end of August 2021 at the age of 13. She fell off her bike on holiday, which eventually led to her body going into septic shock. So I'm going to Cycle4Sepsis in her memory, cycling 100km in a single day in June 2022 for the UK Sepsis Trust. Donations will support their mission to raise awareness of sepsis among the public and health care professionals, to end preventable deaths from sepsis. Even the smallest amount can make a difference.

If you'd like to read about Martha's story, this is an article about her tragic death:

You have no idea how much your donations and messages mean. Thank you so much.

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
