Story
I have decided to take part in this challenge as it is close to my heart. I have decided that I will partake in 2 x 14 mile walks in September to make this slightly more challenging.
This June we lost our beautiful Emily, who battled with brain tumours since 2021 at the age of 14. Right up to the very end she was still determined, and was planning on being an ambassador for Teenage Cancer Trust, even though she was confined to her bed she still wanted to help others. We will continue her quest on her behalf and in her memory we will be helping other families that are enduring this evil disease with their children.
I am taking part in the 28 Mile Challenge to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust! This September, I will be completing 28 miles to represent the 28 hospital units around the country, where Teenage Cancer Trust nurses and youth workers care for young people facing cancer. Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 hear the words you have cancer. They will each need specialised nursing care and support to get them through it. Teenage Cancer Trust are the only charity in the UK charity dedicated to meeting this vital need so no young person faces cancer alone.Every £25 donation provides an hour to talk. A Youth Support Coordinator provides the extra help young people need with things like studies, relationships and mental wellbeing throughout cancer treatment. £25 could pay for an hour of their time, helping them be there when they're needed most.
