Story
January last year my beautiful cousin Ellis passed away suddenly, due to sudden unexplained death in epilepsy (SUDEP). The charity I am raising money for is called SUDEP action, which researches SUDEP and supports families of those who have lost someone from this illness. Sudep action are now also investing in a new way of helping to prevent deaths from epilepsy which is called the wearable apnoea detection device. In order for this project to go ahead we need to raise £165,000 by March 2015, so far we have currently pledged £27,115 and as you can tell we need a lot more! If you want any information on this then please take a look - https://www.sudep.org/support-wearable-apnoea-detection-device. This device could ultimately save lives.
SUDEP affects around 1,000 people every year. So I want to raise awareness and money for research to bring us one step closer to find the prevention of SUDEP so no other family have to go through what we have been through. I am doing the 5k London Santa Run in memory of my cousin Ellis and I know she would be proud of me.
