Story

One year ago, we were saying  that one in four children and young people live in poverty in Scotland. For many, the issue is so acute that some families have to make the heartbreaking decision each day as to whether it is more important to heat their house or sit down to eat.

This year, the situation will deteriorate further, with many more children affected by poverty and levels of poverty becoming more acute.  We cannot let this happen and that is why, at the tender age of 75, I am cycling 150 miles on an exercise bike during 5th - end September to raise funds for the STV Children's Appeal. Funds from the STV Children's Appeal provide practical help like food and clothing, or create opportunities for training and employment, or supply social and emotional support to help affected young people overcome their difficulties. Your donation will put a smile on the faces of our kiddies who deserve a better start in life.  Thank you so much.
